| I ask in all seriousness.I mean, I really don't care for politicians in general, but the current incantation of the Democrat Party really makes me wonder.So, I get back from an appointment this morning and walk in to see President Bush in a live conference talking about the economy.He made some points that made me wonder about the IQ level of Congress for the simple fact that he actually HAD to make those points.Here are some broken down quips from the speech:
-Gas is too fucking high.-We need to drill in ANWR.-Punishing oil companies doesn't help anyone.(i.e. taxing them won't help). |
| (i.e. taxing them won't help).-We've spent millions on renewable energy sources that aren't efficient.-We need to build more refineries because we haven't built any in 30 years.-Congress needs to stop blocking oil exploration and drilling.-Congress needs to start sending him actual legislation, instead of the crap they've been sending, which he's had to veto.Fucking duh!Those things are so blatantly obvious, you could see the pain in Bush's face when he was trying to spell it out.So, later on, I walk in and CSPAN is on. |
| So, later on, I walk in and CSPAN is on.The Democrats, for whatever reason, decided that they needed to use valuable House time to respond to the President's remarks about the economy.Their entire argument can be broken down into the following:
-"The President is out of touch."(Direct quote there, said about 4398578290 times).-Oil companies are bad and should be punished with taxes.-We need to do more with renewable energy sources.With that last, one brilliant Democrat (female, I missed her name) came on and used Brazil as an example because they are pretty much energy self-sufficient because they use sugar-cane ethanol.What she totally missed was that the US has a population almost double of Brazil, and that our economy is like 12 times larger than theirs. |
| What she totally missed was that the US has a population almost double of Brazil, and that our economy is like 12 times larger than theirs.The economic plan espoused by the Democrats that were talking is to INCREASE taxes on those oil companies because they have profits due to the rise in oil prices.....which is due to increased demand and limited supply........which Congress is at fault for because they won't let us increase our supply.HELLOOOOOOOOO!They're wanting to punish the only companies that can provide that service?while at the same time hindering those companies from being able to furnish the product!They're wanting to punish "Big Oil" for something the Democrats have been doing!It's like keeping a dog locked up in a small room then punishing it for shitting on the floor.CONGRESS is fucking up, then punishing "Big Oil" for it.The President comes on and says gas is too fucking high and Congress needs to allow us to GET our own oil, and Sen. Schumer (and a couple others) have the gall to say the President is out of touch? |

Schumer (and a couple others) have the gall to say the President is out of touch?There were a couple of other points that some "reporters" needed explained to them.One had to do with Afghanistan/Iraq, to which the President, yet again, had to point out that we're "in a global fight against thugs and murderers."Another had to do with the government putting oil back into the strategic reserves, to which the President had to explain WHY we need to have a reserve of oil.Come to think of it, those reporters were fucking retarded too.On a personal note, I apologize for my overuse of profanity in this blog.Watching those two things made my brain twist up in a knot.I felt doubly bad because I had told my 6th grader, who recently got a bad grade in "social studies" that if she wanted to watch TV she could watch CSPAN (Floor of the US House of Representatives). |
