Hobbs gleefully impersinates Micheal Jackson??doing the moon walk on tv.Grabing the controller Calvin flips through the channels passing several sappy soap operas then stopping on Guiding Light."uuuugggggg " the boys cried in unison.where is George or Bob even Big Bird would do right now.Bummed both Calvin and Hobbs pile up the dirty laundry making it as large as Mount Everest or at least taller than the sofa."Hey there is my blue ,red and yellow car Hobbs.?I thought?I lost it fur good"
Calvin picked the worn car from dust bunnies on the floor.Puffing out his chest he begins his now infamous acceptence speech of the blue ribbon for winning last years derby race.Four words into it Hobbs interupts
"COWABUNGAAAAAAA"
He missed ,to the delight of his cousin who rolls on the floor in stiches."The pile was a foot away from ya."
Neither boy had seen grandmothers vase teeter closer to the edge.Calvin takes it upon himself to show how its done and with the expertise only a 3 year old has, bounced into the pile with vigor.CRASH!!!!Pieces of bright red ,blue, puke green and vivid purple scattered everywhere along with lots of dirt.Calvin and Hobbs both looked puzzled.Which had put the?dirt into a vase?Hobbs ran into the kitchen and grabbed the dustpan.With lightening speed they cleaned up the vase and dirt amazed how working togther things got done much faster.A lesson soon forgot probably.Hobbs held the door as they proceeded to the back woods. |
| Hobbs held the door as they proceeded to the back woods.Spring had come and the flowers and birds were in every corner of the land.Both needn't say a word as the trail had been blazed over time.They could find the way in the dark if they both wernt so scared at night.?They arrived at the secret fort in moments ,looking carefully to see if they were followed . Breaking a twig they wiped the foot prints from the ground.Pulling back the crochted blanket with wolves on it they entered.Opening an old cardboard box that held there deeds for the week the crammed the vase and dirt inside.Both breathed a sigh of relief.Safe.Falling back onto fluffy square pillows ,they watched the shadows dance across the makeshift roof.Lazy days of summer were at there beakon call.An adventure awaited them with every turn.Each scrapped knee ,torn jeans and bruise will be a badge of boyhood for them both.Life outside these woods maybe forever changing for Hobbs yet here he and Calvin had eachother and friendship and love.They had everything anyboy could want.They sat up and grabbed a sandwich wrapped in paper pushed off the few ants, ripping a piece off for?the?them.Grabbed a juicebox to wash it down?and ate in silence.Soap box ,speech,rant,laundry,box,square,cardboard,stains,clean,wash,TV,soap opera, guiding light,soap box derby, are the words i used trying to get the secret bonus points.Just for a bit of triva what does my title refer too? |
