---NEWS NEWS NEWS NEWS NEWS NEWS NEWS---Big thanks to all those who have got back to me with their selections.Thank you to Nadine, who is preparing the look of the profile.Thank you to Duane Kirby Jensen, who has generously offered a to allow me to use some of his artwork as background.Thank you to John Sterling, who has offered to help me work out html codes. So far I've had back 23 of the first 50 I sent out.THANK YOU.Many of you have emailed asking "have you included so and so?"It is clear to me that 50 is a wholly inadequate number to reflect the variety and quality of respected the internet poets.I have decided to commit myself to producing three volumes of this. That will be 150 of you who get to select a poem (by yourself or someone else). We will see where it goes after that.I know people are busy, but it would help me greatly if you could email me with your selections?as soon as possible (or if you don't want to take part just let me know).I hope to get?the basic e-book up by the end of this week.I will then send out friends requests and bulletins. My idea is to "bump" one selected poem each day (or couple of days). The more attention this gets from you lot the more weight my emails to the internet will carry?as I try to presuade the that this is a good project for them to back.Thank you again.I have been very touched by the response.?(I half expected everyone to groan and tell me where to go!)Si---NEWS NEWS NEWS NEWS NEWS NEWS NEWS---I am posting this sooner than I had wanted because it seems others have had?the same idea (but not as good).I am preparing a "the internet Poetry Book (Volume One)".?It will be available on a new profile I have created.I have selected 50 the internet poets and I am asking each of them to select one poem from the internet that they love. They will give brief reasons why.The profile will have just those fifty poems. This will be create an anthology of the internet poetry.I want it to reflect the diverse nature of this place.I would love each featured poet to donate their poem to the e-book, and if we can persuade the internet, to a future publication. |
I would love each featured poet to donate their poem to the e-book, and if we can persuade the internet, to a future publication.Any proceeds could then be given to a charity of our choice.WE can make a difference if we try.the internet is ours and?it makes poetry ours.I have tried to select?some of the most influential poets on?here. If I have missed any please?let me know.I truly believe that we are creating something special here.A poetry of the ordinary; a poetry of?the?ordinary people. This is?our medium. This is our time.Take it and be special.SiJust posted this bulletin.....I am asking 50 respected the internet poets to choose a poem that has been published on the internet that means a lot to them.I want them to write a bit about why it is important to them.It can be a poem by them, or a poem by someone else, just so long as it matters to them.I have emailed "Tom" and suggested that the internet would benefit from supporting this.My idea is that the poems could be published in a small anthology, and we could donate all profits to charity. The Turner Prize had to start somewhere, well what about the the internet prize?I have set up a profile that will act as a Myspce e-book.All 50 choices will be blogged there individually (with permission) and with the reasons for the choice.I am rubbish at art work so if anyone would like to volunteer to help make the profile look good please email me.
This is just the start. Please support me in this.Si |
