| I certainly am being such a chicken about having surgery.It is only a gall bladder operation.Last time I was put under anesthesia I had amnesia after for three months.I could not even finish a sentence and I walked around in a fog for three years.One day the fog lifted and I could tell the difference.What makes it bad is that I know non of the Drs.here.Our first Dr. we chose had lost his hospital privileges then lied say he "consulted" with Dr. in the hospital who would take his patients.When the ER room has a list, of who is the fall guy Dr. who gets the patients who basically do not have a Dr. So the few times I was in the hospital.I was assigned to the Dr. whose day it was on the list.So I changed Drs.The Dr. I have is not too bad.But.I do not know any of the surgeons. |
| I do not know any of the surgeons.When I worked as an RN, I knew who was a good Dr. and who was just a Dr. So again now I will get pot luck and hope that I get a Surgeon who is gentle with the soft tissue.That is a good thing because there is less post operative pain.So tomorrow I have to decide.Do I take my chances here and hope I get a good surgeon?Or do I go to my daughters in Alabama, an eight-hour drive, I can use the Dr. she had for her surgery.I can drive 12 hours back to Slidell to have my surgery done there with a surgeon.I know is very gentle with the soft tissue.Stay by myself in an empty house with no refrigerator and sleep on a mat on the floor.It is the house we have listed with a realty.Problem is if I have problems I will be to far form home and it will complicate matters.If I go to our daughter in Alabama I have to drive myself and then drive home eight hours drive.If I go to Slidell.It is a 12-hour drive home. |
| It is a 12-hour drive home.After a fresh surgery.Who knows, with amnesia, I may end up in Canada.That would be interesting.It is now an easy decision.What would you pick????What would you do?I think there is something in being oblivious to the hospital physicians and the reputation they have with the Operating Room technicians.After all those surgical technicians no if they are good.I am at a disadvantage.Like most of the general public I will not know if my surgeon is good.Well that is my present position and today I have to decide.I know enough to be a chicken about the whole situation.I am overly informed about the up coming situation. |
